Which SEO tools should I use?
Here you can find a list of some of the most important (mostly) free SEO tools to optimize your website. For search engine optimization and online marketing, it is extremely important to have an optimized website in addition to a content marketing strategy. These tools will help you get your website higher in the search results!
Technical SEO Tools
What are Technical SEO Tools?
These tools help you detect and fix technical problems on your site. There are also many ways to monitor SEO success, such as the development of clicks and impressions via Google search.
GOOGLE Search Console
Is one of the most important SEO tools for every webmaster. It provides a great overview of one’s website as well as its status. Keyword research and optimization can also be done via Google Search Console (formerly Google Webmaster Tools).
Screaming Frog SEO Spider
Screaming Frog analyzes your website and finally gives you a report about the current SEO situation. The SEO tool is free of charge up to 500 URLs. You can also create an XML sitemap there relatively easily.
SEORCH
Free tool for a quick OnPage SEO check. Here you can very quickly check some important onPage factors & rankings.
SEMRUSH
One of my favorite tools for ongoing SEO activities and analysis. It is the Ferrari of SEO tools, but in my opinion really worth the money. It pays to try it out. I find especially the keyword tracking possibilities, the backlink reports and also the technical OnPage audits very valuable.
Load time analysis tools
GOOGLE PAGESPEED INSIGHTS
The Google tool gives you an insight into the performance of your website (sitespeed). After you have entered your URL, Google will give you a rating of your website, as well as suggestions for improvement.
LIGHTHOUSE
Lighthouse is an open-source tool for improving the quality of websites. It has audits for load time, crawlability, SEO checks and much more.
GTMETRIX
Another tool to check your website for loading time. It now also has the Core Web Vitals integrated and is a simple tool for pagespeed measurement in addition to Google Pagespeed Insights.
Structured Data & XML Sitemaps
Why use structured data?
Especially with regard to the latest Google updates, Google attaches great importance to high-quality pages enriched with structured data.
SCHEMA CREATOR
With Schema Creator you can easily generate the schema code and insert it on your website. For those of you who don’t know exactly what schema is and what you need it for: schema or structured data helps Google understand what the data on your site means. This allows Google to rank your websites even better.
CREATE XML SITEMAP
With XML Sitemap Creator you can create a sitemap of your site and upload it to your Google Webmasters account. This is important so that Google can recognize and index each of your URLs.
TECHNICALSEO – MERKLE SEO TOOLS
A very helpful collection of SEO tools including one of my favorites there, the FAQ Markup Generator. It pays to try it out.
Test for RICH SEARCH RESULTS
The official tool from Google to check your rich search results.
Keyword Tools
What are Keyword Tools?
With the help of these tools you can query search volumes for various keywords and thus estimate whether it is worthwhile to build content for them.
UBERSUGGEST
A great SEO tool, with which you can also generate a lot of alternative keyword suggestions. Then copy these keywords into the Google Keyword Planner under “Find keywords”.
GOOGLE KEYWORD PLANNER
Google’s Keyword Planner helps you plan Google Adwords campaigns and can also be used for your SEO keyword analysis. This SEO tool can also give you estimates on CPC prices as well as estimated traffic.
